Code Application and Development

SOHA Engineers has extensive experience in the application of various building codes to new design, seismic evaluation, and seismic rehabilitation of buildings. Our engineers are thoroughly familiar with the Uniform Building Code (UBC); the California Building Code (CBC), including Title 24 requirements; the San Francisco Building Code (SFBC); the Los Angeles Building Code (LABC); the International Building Code (IBC), the International Residential Code (IRC); and ASCE-7. We have also developed a reputation for employing the latest guidelines for seismic rehabilitation of buildings, including FEMA 178 and 310 for evaluation; FEMA 273, 274 and FEMA 356 for rehabilitation; and FEMA 368 and 369 for regulations of new buildings. Our engineers have also been instrumental in the development of these documents.
