The preliminary engineering phase was completed at the end of 2009. This project was an extension of MUNI Third Street Light Rail Project completed in 2007. The project involved a new MUNI tunnel line connecting the existing Caltrains Station at 4th & Townsend all the way into Chinatown. Four new stations include 4th/Brannan, Moscone, Union/Market, and Chinatown.
