San Francisco, CA

This project is part of a citywide program to upgrade and expand existing City-owned facilities. This particular project consists of the interior renovation and seismic upgrade of the existing historically significant building (circa 1939), and addition of an elevator, and a building expansion to provide additional workspace. Some of the seismic retrofit work includes the strengthening of the roof and floor diaphragms with the addition of chords and re-roofing, providing toes/collectors at the reentrant corners to transfer lateral forces, providing ties between isolated column footings, and replacing hollow clay tile partitions at the select locations.
