Pier 27 | James R. Herman Cruise Ship Terminal
San Francisco, CA

The cruise ship terminal project includes demolishing the existing Pier 27 maritime shed, opening up the site for constructing an approximately 88,000 square foot, two-level new cruise terminal facility and the Northeast Wharf Plaza. The proposed size of the terminal is defined as optimal to serve current and anticipated ship berthing requirements and associated passenger flows. The terminal building is composed of steel special moment-resisting frames constructed on top of the existing Pier 27 Wharf Structure. The facility is also used as the main headquarters for the America’s Cup Yacht racing series prior to its conversion to the cruise ship terminal.
