This project is part of a City-wide program to upgrade and to expand existing City-owned library facilities. It involved structural, architectural and mechanical rehabilitation of the existing Parkside Library plus an addition. Seismic retrofit work entailed providing adequate load transfer path to existing structural framing members and adding new concrete shearwalls. The new addition is structurally tied to the existing building.
