University of the Pacific

Stockton, CA

The new university center for the University of the Pacific is a 95,000 square-foot facility consisting of a two-story building, housing student social spaces, dining, servery and kitchen, a large open event space, conference rooms, and a variety of other academic & social functions. The lower floor also enclosed 12,000 square-feet of parking. The building represents gothic Ivy League architecture with brick veneer exterior and historical profile 45-degree double-pitched slate roofs. The structural system is steel frame with a combination of braced and moment frames. A variety of exposed and non-exposed steel roof trusses create the open spaces at different spaces with varying ceiling profiles.
